Returns to the Stage
with Premiere of
Take FLight!

SandMark Productions is thrilled to announce their first production in two years, Take Flight!, a new play by Mark Wyss. Take Flight! revolves around a person who has gone missing in a busy airport and a group of strangers who reluctantly help in the search.  In typical SandMark fashion, the piece combines comedy with pathos. The piece is directed by Tim Kietzman, and will be performed at ComedySportz, 420 S. 1st  Street, Milwaukee. Tickets are on sale now.

SandMark’s most recent production, A Disappearing, played to full houses and provoked lively post-show talk-backs. It has been two years since that production.

Mark Wyss, one of the founders of SandMark Productions, explains why it took so long to get to this next production.  “We often get the question, When is the next SandMark show? Our answer is usually, we’re working on it. We don’t just want to do a show. We want to produce work that asks questions and stimulates conversation. We want to start a dialogue, not end a debate.”

Sandra Wyss, another founding member of the company, adds, “Our model is unique. We are not a traditional theatre company. We only produce projects that we develop, are interested in, committed to, and passionate about, with subject matter that speaks to and is important to us.”

Tim Kietzman, founding member and director of the popular SandMark shows A Bulletproof Heart and A Disappearing, returns to direct Take Flight! “We try to stage shows that are audience inclusive, that require more from an audience than just sitting back and enjoying the show,” says Kietzman. “We want you actively involved every step of the way.”

​

“Sometimes it takes us a little longer to put shows together,” offers Larry Beckley, the final founding member of SandMark. “We start our projects from scratch, most often developing an original script. That can take time.”

Take Flight! will be presented at ComedySportz on May 17, 18, 24, 25 and June 1. All shows begin at 7:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased online for $17.50 at www.eventbrite.com/TakeFlight Reduced pricing for Seniors and Students can only be purchased on the Eventbrite page.  All tickets are $20 at the door. Seating is limited so advanced ticket purchase is encouraged.
